Nowadays, that’s not only true in terms of clothing, but skin color as well. Senegalese girls want to look like Europeans. Advertisements in magazines and on billboards display light-skinned models, insisting that this is what men like. Pharmacists have come to the rescue of fashion-conscious women. They offer pills and skin-lightening creams, but rarely warn the buyers of the possible catastrophic side effects of using them. These products have long been banned worldwide, but that doesn’t stop Senegalese women bent on flaunting a lighter skin shade.

Corporations that want to rip women off and convince them their only inherent beauty is physical and completely opposite of what they! White some are told they are too pale, black women that they are not fair enough? Oppression, colonialism, mixed with greed continues to destroy perception. If people only understood they are not bodies. The body dies. The soul that inhabits the body makes it beautiful, animates it with life force, light, personality and love.

Makes these women look ashy and sickly. Takes away the healthy glow of their skin. The chemicals in the cremes are also very toxic. Many of them contain lead.

I'm an Asian. We have so much skin whitening products in our country. A lot of people uses it. When I got older, I learned what racism is. Heck, we even call dark skinned people "negro", not in a racist kind of way. Now I know how controversial this is.
